Terms of Service

About these terms

These terms govern your use of the WānaTravel itinerary platform (the “Service”) operated by WānaTravel Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in New Zealand. By creating an account, accessing a shared itinerary, or using the iOS or Android mobile app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These terms do not displace the consumer protections you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Where you use the Service for a business purpose, those Acts may not apply.

Who can use the Service

The Service has two user types:

  • Agents: travel agents authorised by WānaTravel to build and manage itineraries. Agent accounts are created by invitation; you may not access agent functionality without authorisation.
  • Clients: travellers and account holders who view itineraries that an agent has shared with them. Clients either sign in to a personal account or view a trip via a private share link.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

What the Service does, and what it doesn’t

The Service displays, organises, and stores information about travel arrangements made by WānaTravel agents. It is a presentation and recordkeeping tool — it is not a booking system, a payment processor, or a substitute for the contracts you have with airlines, hotels, and other travel suppliers.

Bookings, fares, schedules, and policies displayed in the Service reflect the state of the booking at the time the agent recorded it. They may change. Always confirm critical details (departure times, visa requirements, baggage allowances) with your agent and with the underlying supplier before relying on them.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and any share-link tokens private. You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or terminate accounts that are inactive for an extended period, that are used in breach of these terms, or where required by law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of others.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users’ accounts, or our systems.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service except to the extent expressly permitted by law.
  • Use the Service to send spam, phishing messages, malware, or content that is defamatory, harassing, or otherwise harmful.
  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the Service.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, brand, and content we author, is owned by WānaTravel or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose.

You retain ownership of the information you provide to the Service (for example, traveller details, preferences, and notes). You grant us a licence to use that information to operate the Service and deliver the travel arrangements you have asked us to make.

Travel arrangements and third parties

Travel arrangements you book through WānaTravel are subject to the terms and conditions of the underlying suppliers (airlines, hotels, insurance providers, etc.). We are not the supplier of those arrangements; our role is that of a travel intermediary. We are not responsible for acts, omissions, or failures of those suppliers, including cancellations, schedule changes, lost luggage, or accidents.

You are responsible for ensuring you have valid travel documents (passport, visas, vaccinations), travel insurance, and that you meet entry and transit requirements for every country on your itinerary.

Push notifications

If you enable push notifications, we will send you alerts about your trips, including flight-status changes, ticketing milestones, and messages from your agent. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Service availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, remove, or modify features at any time. Where a change materially reduces the functionality you rely on, we will give reasonable notice through the Service.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and we exclude all implied warranties. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, or for loss arising from third-party travel suppliers. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims arising from your use of the Service is limited, to the maximum extent permitted by law, to NZ$500.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we cease offering the Service. On termination, provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, liability, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the courts of New Zealand. Before commencing court proceedings we encourage you to contact us at hello@wanatravel.co.nz so we can try to resolve the issue.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect. Material changes will be notified through the Service. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect confirms your acceptance of the updated terms.
